So I am a permanent resident of Canada living on Bowen Island, British Columbia. Thinking of doing some blogging again. Politics here aren’t nearly as intersting as in the good old USA, but they do tend not to fall for slogans and flag draped bullshit quite as easily here. Anyone still around??

…and here i am in Canada….
I keep hearing McCain’s campaign complain about the sexist coverage of Sarah Palin in the media.
I’d like to see one example. No…not from “Billy’s Homemade Political Blog” but from CNN, MSNBC, FOX, etc.
What kind of country does McCain want if it is forbidden to ask questions about a vice presidental candidate? I would hope that they would welcome scrutiny because they have so much faith in Palin. But that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Should the American media just proclaim that if John McCain says she’s OK, so do we all?
What is happening here exactly?
So show me all this sexism…
UPDATE: I was accused of being “gruff” with someone this morning. No one ever calls a woman “gruff”…. now I know how poor Sarah feels when she is called “shrill”.
McCain just made a fatal mistake. It’s exciting right now…but in the end people will analyze what’s at stake and realize what they have known all along: McCain has impaired judgement and is only interested in showmanship.
Another shock and awe campaign gone awry for the GOP.
Hillary’s voters are too sharp for this bonehead, clumsy move. Palin is no Hillary Clinton….and they are not interchangeable just because they are both women.

Rachel Ray and Dunkin’ Donuts=terrorist sympathizers.
Is it possible that all this time I just thought I had a big mouth when in fact I simply have an inflated ego? Could it be a combination of both? Probably.
Today I suggested, perhaps in an inappropriate forum, that it was time for the party to unify behind Barack Obama. I was shocked at the response I got from the moderator of the forum. If she is reading this, I hope that she can try to understand why I posted such a thing. But the response made me realize that feelings are, to say the least, raw. Who could have forseen that Hillary would not secure the nomination? But we are all adults here right? Able to accept defeat and move on?
Maybe not so much.
There I go again…big mouth. Condescending. Inflated ego. Ick. But I feel that something is happening here. The Democratic party of the last 8 years is dying. A new party has evolved out of the old. We had two strong cadidates…soon we will have one strong nominee, and it will be Obama (have I mentioned this lately?). It’s time to leave Terry Mcauliffe behind.
I want the Democrats to win because I love my country. The sleaze machine of the Republic party is scared, and they are going to be vicious. VICIOUS.
Can we talk about getting together on this? Or should we count on a third Bush term?
